In the DVD volume 5 Boris provides a detailed verbal explanation followed by on screen caption commentaries at the time of hands-on performance. He teaches how to perform region specific self-massage for painful hamstring, quadriceps and knee injuries, including Jumper’s Knee and Runner’s Knee injuries. The self massage includes trigger point therapy, application of hot stones and ice, post isometric relaxation techniques, and rehabilitative exercise. This DVD is designed as a home study educational program and contains theoretical as well as practical parts. It’s easy to study and you can use offered techniques immediately.
If you sustain hamstring, quadriceps or knee injuries during sports activities, car accidents, or work either caused by a repeated motion and/or performing any work that strains hamstring, quadriceps or knee, this program could be effective in helping yourself to feel better. It could also be very beneficial in preventing possible complications like ligaments, muscles or tendons tears, acceleration of osteo-arthritis development within knee and hip joints, and more.

Excerps from the study:
Pycnogenol® was chosen due to a history of studies of the extract to alleviate inflammation by inhibiting COX-1, COX-2 and the pro-inflammatory “master-switch” nuclear factor-kappa B,” said lead researcher Dr. Ronald Watson from the University of Arizona. “Pycnogenol® offers a safe nutritional approach to significantly reduce pain and improve physical function of arthritic joints. It controls inflammation and thus ideally complements existing strategies that comprise delivery of ‘building blocks’ for replacement of degenerated cartilage.”
After two months of supplementation, physical function and pain scores improved in the Pycnogenol® group. After three months in the Pycnogenol® group, there was a reduction of 43 percent in pain, 35 percent in stiffness, 52 percent in physical function subscales and 49 percent composite WOMAC. The placebo group showed no significant scores throughout the entire study. Oh well, it sucks to be the placebo group! They can always start taking the OPC-3 to relieve their pain.
Pycnogenol’s® natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties were responsible for delivering these excellent results,” said Watson. “This study shows that supplementing with Pycnogenol® can fight joint inflammation and soothe the pain and stiffness, thus pave the path for cartilage renewal with substances such as glucosamine.”
My comments:
Dennis Franks, the Philadelphia Eagles captain a while back, is a big promotor of OPC-3 as well as Glucosatrin, a product for healthy joints and bones. Dennis got banged around playing football during his sports career and has some joint issues and uses and promotes both of the products himself.
