I have Osteoarthritis in my knee joints and I’m only 28 …..?

I’m worried that I’m not going to be able to walk one day. Could this happen? If so how long will it take?
I’m on 6 pain killers a day and 3 of them are morphine based for the pain.
I've been told that I'm too young for a knee replacement on the NHS and can't afford to go private.

You may be eligible for knee replacements when you get older. Be very careful of narcotic medications as these are very habit forming. Have you spoke to your Dr about alternatives?

I’m 29 and have a similar problem in the joints in my lower back-it sucks. Have you heard of or tried Synvisc injections? If they get bad enough to wear down the bone (which mine is-my discs anyway) then surgery might help-It stinks though when you are so young. The only way to help my pain is a very wicked back surgery-I have been told to put it off until I can’t stand it anymore. Sometimes, pool exercises can help relieve pressure on your knee joints-have you tried some P.T. yet? Good luck. I too am a frequent pain pill taker, it’s take the pills or I can’t function so I understand your frustration. I am looking today at some mobile scooters so that I can actually go places with my little boy:) Hang in there!
