I started having pain at work Memorial day weekend–I do alot of lifting, bending, standing….it doesn't hurt in the a.m…
There are over 100 types of arthritis, so to get to the real answer may require some digging. x-rays and blood tests can rule out most kinds.
Even if arthritis is discovered, the most common prescription is Motrin or Naprosyn a few times a day, plus ice packs.
You could be lucky. It might just be weak muscles on the side of the knee, for which you can do physical therapy. Either way, good luck.

I have recently been diagnosed with osteo arthritis of my patella-femoral joint! I am 31 years old and my knee is always swelling up and causing me severe pain!! Doctor said he would do a scope but might not benefit me. Was wondering if anyone has had a scope and benefitted in the long wrong! I cant live like this its been since june and I have been doing therapy any suggestions please
Yes, it has helped some. It definitely takes the pressure off but it is not a long term solution. Would I do it again to prolong inevitable knee replacement surgery? Yes, I would.

My right knee is swollen and I am unable to bend it fully, and its been like this for about 3 months. I play volleyball and Im also a runner. When I run or walk my knee doesn't hurt at all, just only when i try to bend it into a certain position. I went to the doctor, and he told me that i might have rheumatoid arthritis. If i do have this, what is the treatment? Will my knee ever go back to normal? Will I ever get to run track or play any sports again?

My father has arthritis and finds it sometimes painful to walk due to his knees. They are usually quite swollen and stiff.
However, because he has haemophilia, he cannot take the usual anti-inflammatory medicine that would normally be prescribed by Doctors.
What remedies can you suggest to ease the swelling and soften the pain?
I swear by this stuff. It's called "Liquid Health - Glucosamine". A friend of mine was scheduled for knee replacement surgery. After taking this for 3 months, he not only has been pain free for over a year, but never had to have the surgery!
