TK Knee Bands 200kg Single Leg Press Demo 1

December 30th, 2008 by admin

http://www.intafitness.com.au . Mr. Inta-Fitness demos the great TK Knee Bands here performing a 200 kg partial single leg press (too much stress on lower back & pelvic rotation to go full ROM on these) followed by single leg jump squats with a static hold to failure.

I could not do this without these great TK Bands. They keep my knees supported & warm and I feel safe & comfortable with this weight whereas in the past I would get pain in the patellar tendon due to the sheer force through the knee. Since using these TK Bands I have not had any overuse or inflammatory injuries such as tendonitis - I highly recommend them!

Please Help with Knee Pain question …?

December 30th, 2008 by admin

In my right knee, the pain is excruciating. Both on the knee cap, where the knee cap meets the bone on the bottom of the knee, and on both sides of the knee cap. When I try to stand it almost feels as if the bone is broken, once I stand the pain diminishes somewhat until I try to bend the knee to walk down or up stairs.

I am 66. Believe me when I say the doctor I have thru my Medicare Supplement is worthless. He has referred me to an orthopedist who is equally uninterested in the fact that I am constantly in tears from this excruciating pain.

I have to work for at least 5 more years before I can retire. While I sit at a computer for 7 hours, I do have to stand up and walk around the office to deliver documents.

Please help me try to reach the correct type of doctor to find out what to do with this pain, and how to treat the cause.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

I see a rhumatologist.
he injects my knee cap with orthovisc.
knee pain at any age hurts really bad.
my first injury was at age 12 and final couldn't use the knee in 2002. it's been hell!

but www.orthovisc.com those injections gave me back the synvical fluid under my knee cap.

you have to be assertive with your doctor.
TELL HIM– DON'T ASK
TELL HIM TO PUT IT IN WRITING ON YOUR MEDICAL CHART THAT YOU ARE REQUESTIONG AN MRI FOR BOTH KNEES.
**this is how to make a doctor do things for you!****
the doctor WILL WRITE YOU THE REFERRAL FOR MRI– if he puts in your chart that you requested it in writing and ask for a copy of your medical records, he will be open to law suit, no doctor wants this!!
MY DAD'S ONCOLOGIST TAUGHT ME HOW TO BULLY MY DOCTOR'S INTO REFERAL'S AND TEST!!

TELL THEM TO PUT IN WRITING THAT YOU ARE REQUESTING A HANDICAP PARKING PERMIT.

TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE REQUESTING THAT THEY PUT IN WRITING IN YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS THAT YOU ARE REQUESTING A REFERAL FOR AN ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON.

SAME WITH PAIN MANAGMENT MEDS!!!

if it hurts don't do it!
avoid stairs– as if you could use them!!

GET A KNEE BRACE THAT HAS A METAL HINGE.
IT REALLY HELPED ME!!
IT'S THE ONLY WAY I COULD WALK!!
**i was in bed and couldn't stand on my knee for 6 months, before i finally got the doctor to order tests, to see a specialist etc.
i had to demand it! don't settle for less.

and ask for a copy of your medical records!!
NO DOCTOR WANTS YOU TO HAVE THOSE, BUT THEY ARE YOUR LEGAL RIGHT!!! THEY ARE OPEN TO YOU.

**WHEN YOU DO ASK, THE DOCTOR WILL ORDER THE TESTS YOU REQUEST AND THE REFERALS YOU NEED.
***No doctor, how bad or good they are, wants it in writing that they didn't do what a patient "requested to put in writing" if they refuse your request, TELL THEM TO PUT THAT IN YOUR CHART THAT THEY ARE REFUSING TO REFER YOU OR REFUSING TO ORDER YOU AN MRI ON YOUR KNEE.

**THAT'S HOW TO GET THE DOCTOR OFF HIS BUTT, AND YOU INTO WHERE YOU NEED TO BE!!*********

also be a good student, and study up on your knees, and know what you want to request.
do your research and home work.

what sport can i play safely after knee surgery but before 100% strength is back?

December 30th, 2008 by admin

10 months ago i had ACl surgery and one hamstring/quad is still at 60% strength. what sport can i play to strengthen my muscles and not hurt myself? I used to be an avid basketball, volleyball, rugby, and soccer player,as well as a runner, and mountain biker. Im now down to running and playing low contact basketball with a knee brace and occasional bike rides.I am open to new sports, just lead the way!

I know it sounds kind of whimpy and boring, but you can really exert yourself and train…

In aquacise pool sports. Pool walking, all sorts of pool sports are opening up these days of older people staying more fit… It does not matter if we keep ourselves up, a time comes when we recognize the cost of some of that wear and tear.

If you live in a large enough area it can be pretty easy to find a pool volleyball or basketball night. You cannot twist or jam your legs in a pool… but you can sure work yourself to a nibbin getting to that ball in the water. There is also water polo, but that is a serious contact sport, and way too brutal.

I have recovered from some nasty knee surgeries. It is worth it! Go out and play… What is the point of all the pain and expense if you are not going to USE it? :)
